Streamtorrent is a P2P application for streaming audio and video. Peers stream data to each other, thus saving bandwidth from the original source. About StreamTorrent; its not focused on 24/7 running Channels. It using public streams and those won't work all the time.
It's easy to use, easy to search in but it's still a Beta so it could have issues!
How to open a channel
- Start Streamtorrent
- Copy the stream URL (ex. st://GSE0982...) from our schedules. Right mouse on the play link --> Copy the url. Or from the forum. (Suggested to use Internet Explorer)
- Go back to Stream Torrent, press Ctrl+V, or go to edit > paste link.
- Select channel, press play. There you have it!
I see an error or advertising page when starting to watch/loading a channel?
- Streamtorrent had an advertisement/info page, but it's offline and shows you it can't connect to the page. You don't have to click it, just wait untill it has buffered above the 30% mark and the ads will go away and the channel will start to work. Loading it can take up to 10 minutes, so be patient and connect early!
If you get an advertisement and you want to block it then you can do the following: Go into IE Internet Options > Security Tab, and add these urls to the restricted list it does work: http://announce.tvaio.com http://announce.tvaio.net http://www.tvaio.com You still see the bad site, but the page is basically blank.I get the Red X and channels not loading?
See the Wiziwig forum for the solution to this issue: Wiziwig Forum - A Solution to Net State - Not Connected and the Red X or the StreamTorrent - Red "X" Solution. The first one should work the best.Have fun, for questions see the StreamTorrent - Wiziwig Forum section.
